Avant Garde is an upcycled fashion design competition taking place in Cape Town, South Africa. Now in it’s second year, the competition challenges second year Design Academy of Fashion students to create eco-chic looks from upcycled clothing.
Avant Garde is a Live Eco design initiative brought to you by Pick n Pay & The Body Shop. The idea behind the competition is to inspire young designers to think more sustainably & holistically when it comes to their creations.
Currently the competition is in the design phase. In November the public can vote for their favourite designs on Live Eco for a chance to win David Green sunglasses.
The competition will culminate in a fashion show at the CTICC on November 24, 2012.
