Together Lebanese designers Xavier Baghdadi and Lea Kradokian are Junk Munkez. The duo take old washing machine drums and polish them up into stylish seats.
The stools are part of Junk Munkez’s ‘Knit-Knack’ range and are knitted with geometric patterns and topped with bright cushions. Apparently there’s even a hidden cavity space with extra storage for sneaky fun.
We love the design of the stools and applaud the team’s green efforts in a country unfamiliar with recycling policies. Lebanon is plagued with illegal dump sites that overflow onto public beaches. Let’s hope other designers are similarly inspired to upcycle and repurpose trash.
