How to Make a Pallet Spice Rack
Find a large pallet. We used half a pallet that we already had.
Cut the pallet in half with a saw.
Measure the top of the pallet and cut 3 pieces of scrap wood to this size. Screw 2 of these boards onto the open parts of the pallet.
Flip the pallet over and these boards become the bottom of the shelves.
Take the 3rd piece of wood and use wood glue to attach 2 small blocks of wood to it. We used scrap wood from our pile for these blocks.
Attach this shelf to the spice rack by drilling directly into the small wooden blocks.
Now sand your pallet spice rack.
Mix the Woodoc colour and add it to the sealant. We used Ebony. Stir well with a stir stick to combine. Apply your first coat. Allow to dry completely. Stir the product well and apply the second coat of sealer. Allow to dry completely.
Add your spices to your new pallet spice rack style it the way you like. We like to keep our spices in glass jars. This keeps the spices fresher for longer. We also recommend buying spices in bulk for less and bringing your own bags to avoid single use plastic.
