This gorgeous patio paradise involves numerous pallet upcycles. The two biggest components are the dramatic pallet wood floors and walls. Other upcycles include: the stunning pallet benches and gabion table, the pallet cabinet, pallet living wall and pallet wood planters. The combination of these projects is an incredible pallet patio oasis!

Today we are going to focus on the pallet wood floors and walls. These go a long way in transforming the outdoor space into a pallet patio paradise!

These pallet walls and floors are the perfect solution for renters looking to transform their outdoor space. They are not nailed in and are made up of sections that can be taken apart for moving.

Pallet flooring

In order to make the pallet wood floor you will need lots of pieces of pallet wood. Source several pallets and take them apart. Be sure to remove their nails with a hammer. Because pallets can be irregular you’ll need to make sure that you have uniform length pieces. You can achieve this by cutting pallet boards to size using a table saw, or a circular saw with a cross-cut jig. Once your pallet boards are cut you can sand them.

The above diagram is a view of the bottom side of the pallet flooring. The green pieces are the braces to nail into. We suggest assembling the flooring using a nail gun. Once assembled, you can stain your wood and stencil on your chosen designs.

Pallet walls

The pallet walls function like a free-standing, 3-sided box. Similar to the pallet flooring method, braces/posts are used. The pallet paneling is then attached to these posts. Corner posts are connected with pocket hole screws.

The pallet walls are further strengthened by the furniture pieces which are fitted tightly against the walls. For a style element, a panel of corrugated scrap metal was added to the centre of the pallet patio walls.
